SpaceX, the company led by Elon Musk, is expected to launch a satellite, which is basically an Earth observation satellite and the company will also attempt the rocket landing which will be the first-ever rocket landing by the company on the California soil, and this event is indeed of huge importance to the company as well as the space enthusiasts all over the world. This launch will be taking place tonight and will be quite a historic event, as far as the happenings in this field of space are concerned.
A Falcon 9 rocket, which is basically a two-stage rocket and is topped by SAOCOm-1A satellite of Argentina, will be launched from the Vandenberg Air Force Base, tonight. If everything goes well and according to the plan, the first stage of the Falcon 9 will come back to the planet Earth, to the same base, within nearly 9 minutes after the liftoff. The founder and CEO of the company, Elon Musk, took to Twitter to share this news and also said that this event is not going to be subtle at all.
The interesting fact that needs to be noted here is that the company SpaceX has actually launched as many as two dozen of the Falcon 9 first stages, but he is going to be historic because this is the first time ever that it will touch down particularly on the west coast. Some of the other landings that were done in the recent past were done at a few locations including the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
